Seller Note “This card boots into Windows. Overheats, thermal throttles and experience artifacts while gaming. Sometimes crashes.”
Summary
- So far, I have not seen any serious issues with this card
- Kombuster HD – fine
- Furmark HD – fine
- Heaven Ultra HD – fine, although I might have seem a brief artefact
- Subnautica – fine
- The main issue I noticed is that 3D Time Spy wont run against this card (update: it does now, possibly there was a driver issue initially).
- I cannot see anything unusual in GPU-Z, VRM efficiency seems fine.
- Temperatures seem to peak at 75 degrees C
- I do believe that the seller isn’t making it up, could be my test rig mounting the card vertically? Maybe there is a faulty BGA joint?
Update 28/07/2022 – Performance testing
- 3D Time Spy completed scoring Great
- So far this card seems to be performing nicely (i3 test machine, horizontal mount)
- Subnautica (2-hour soak test)
- Temp ~ 74 deg C (case has side off)
- VRM efficiency looks excellent at a very stable >95%
- GPU load looks smooth, no dips
- Fortnite and PUBG both play fine in my main PC for several weeks.
- Has been mostly faultless in my main PC for over 2 weeks. Only one single crash put doubt in my mind. It’s possible it was driver related, as Adrenelin driver-related errors were popping up, then a crash, when restarted the fans monetarily peaked at 100% on logging back into Windows 10. Since then, no issues for several days. Hopefully it is safe to sell.
