Summary
- Warranty sticker intact, check for missing screws, otherwise looks good
- Resistances TODO (would need to break warranty seal, I have other XFX RX 580s for reference)
- The idle state VRM efficiency looks a bit low, I expect around 60% @ 300Mhz and VDDC 0.75V. However, I am seeing it more like a bit below 50% and regular dips under 0.75V for VDDC
- Hmm… under load the VRM efficiency looks pretty good running Kombuster as high as 93% and average in the high 80s.
- Thermals looking pretty under control, despite the card not being opened and perhaps needing new paste and thermal pads.
- 3D Time Spy – scored Good, a little over average, normal for this kind of card
- Heaven HD Ultra – Looks good, 40+ FPS
- tserver passes, but with [error][ProfileEvent] Failed to get VDDC avg. current. After discussing this error with others it could be a non-issue. I have several cards with this error and all seem fine in testing.
Next Steps
- Not sure whether to open the card, as the thermals are OK and somebody might prefer it with the seal.
- It needs stress testing though and perhaps running in my main machine to make sure it’s safe for sale.
