Seller Note “Pulled from a working system and kept on the shelf for a new build, now the card will not power up”
Summary
- Nice cosmetic condition, warranty seal intact
- Think the seller ripped me off here! They sold me it as a rx 580, I got a discount when it turned out to be a rx 560, but should have returned it instead, as, once opened, it turned out to be utterly corroded and shorted!
- Resistances
- VCore, VMem, VDCI All under 1 Ohm
- Display Rail
- 1.8V – <1 Ohm (short!)
- 5V – 0.6 Ohms (Short!)
- 3.3V -3.1KOhms
- 12V shorted on PCI! 1.6K on PCI-E
- Getting a bad feeling about this, there seem to be multiple shorts, could be the core is shorted.
- Bad corrosion on the HDMI port when dismantled.
- Need to take a look under the microscope, lots of dust, probably going to end up scrap.
- This card turned out to be very badly shorted on multiple rails.
- The best hope is to use it for core BGA practice some day, lesson learned, return rubbish stuff!
